When will season 2 of the vampire diaries air?

i know the season 1 season finale is next thursday and its going be amazing, but i dont know when season 2 will air, i really hope it doesnt air in september because that is too much time to wait. this show is amazing its better than twilight a million times over.

    As I've found in IMDB the first 10 episodes of season 2 will be aired in 2010, so the starting should be some time around 28 of October, in case it doesn't coincide any special program such as first season that coincided with 2010 winter olympics.

    But I will be happy to hear it's not true, 'cause it's too late and hard to wait! let me know about any new information about season 2 airing.

    The show's first season finale will air on May 13, 2010.

    The start of season 2 of The Vampire Diaries has not yet been announced.

    I found out from web that WHOLE SEASON 2 is going to air in 2010.

    I guess it will be after either a week or a few months.

    sorry - it will be the fall most likely Sept-the "traditional" usa tv season is sept- may

    Plus They haven't even filmed it yet!
