Interested in becoming Navy Aircrew but have AV rating...?
Im about to ship out for boot in 9 days and have AV (Avionics Technician) as my rate on my contract. about a few days ago I learned about the Navy Aircrew Candidate School and becoming a Naval Aircrewman. My rate, AV, is not an actual rate, I will be designated either as AE (Aviation Electrician's Mate) or AT (Aviation Electronics Technician) depending upon the completion of the Basic Electronics School at A School. Then I read both of these ratings and it states that I can volunteer as a Navy Aircrew.
My Question is:
Am I able to volunteer for Naval Aircrew Candidate School after my A school? or do I have to work first with my own rating then apply for NACCS?
I really want to be an Aircrewman instead of being a regular AE or AT.
thanks a lot!

-I believe you can apply during A school but there is aircrew dry(flight attendants) or air crew wet(The guys who jump in the water and rescue you just to let you know aviation has the lowest promotion rate in the Navy but people still love it for some reason

If that is something like Marine Corps Aircrew, then the education will be fairly perplexing. I propose you be in properly structure for once you bypass. sure, you'll attend SERE. paintings on getting that a million.5 mile time all the way down to about 10 minutes.
