when do contractions start? what do they feel like?

could be braxton hicks. to me, contractions felt like a really bad period cramp (in my lower abdomen and lower back) that would come and go. it gets tight and you feel like you can't really move when you get them. braxton hicks can start as early as the second trimester. usually real contractions don't start until you're actually in labor. i didn't feel a single contraction (not even braxton hicks) until i was in labor, at 37w5d pregnant. my friend felt braxton hicks from the time she was 29 weeks pregnant and wound up delivering her baby at 40w4d pregnant.

contraction pain are different for everyone. It could be sharp pain on your belly, back ache, menstrual cramps, a tooth ache, a massive head ache. Like I said, It's different for everyone.
