Psycho (1960) ~ Imagine the shock back then as the audience settled in for a story of how this lady is going to repent her crime. Then... Dirty Mary Crazy Larry (1974) ~ WOW! Others that come to mind are: Kirk Douglas' character in Saturn 3 Radha Mitchell's character in Pitch Black Barry Miller's character in Saturday Night Fever Richard Jaeckel's character in Sometimes a Great Notion ~ This is a painfully drawnout death though. The situation does occur suddenly, and we think a rescue is at hand. Then, the inevitability of what is going to happen creeps in for a grueling wait. Anyone who has seen this movie will vividly recall the scene even decades afterward.

The remake in 1996 of "William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet"!
It has Leonardo DiCaprio as "Romeo",
Clare Danes as "Juliet",
John Leguizamo as "Tybalt",
Jesse Bradford as "Balthasar",
And a lot of other famous actors.
This movie is very poetic, and somewhat hard to keep up with, considering the way they are talking in Shakespeare.
But let me tell you, there is more than one death scene and they are amazing! They are sad but the way they make this movie, its more modern day version. If you've seen it, then you know that it is somewhat brutal! But this film is MOST DEFF not lame, its not like the original or the book. It has twists, and the killings are upsetting and dramatic. There are swards, but in this version they use guns and poison and blood.
Its my favorite. I cry every time!
