How to get rid of gas smell in washing machine?
My husband spilled gas all over his pants and I immediately threw them in the washer. (Yes I know I should have rinsed them out but it was 7am) Now my washer smells like gas. I have run baking soda through it even the kitty litter baking soda, bleach and washing machine cleaner. All done with hot water. Now it just has a flowery gas smell. Help I have 2 year old and a baby I need my washer to work ASAP!

You need to use something that will break down the "grease" in the gas; it's oily.
Couple things to try:
1. Try running one load of old towels or shop rags with hot water and the amount of dishwasher (yes, dishwasher) detergent. Wash old stuff because the items could get "bleached". Powdered product is best.
2. Try washing a load of something with about 2 cups of white vinegar instead of laundry detergent with the hot water.
3. Go to the store, get some Simple Green. It's a great degreaser but it does suds a bit so I wouldn't use more than 1/2 cup. It's highly concentrated. But non-toxic and biodegradable.
Next time hubby gets gas on his clothes; spray them down well with the Simple Green and let it soak at least a couple hours. Then launder. The Simple Green breaks down the grease and it won't stick in the washer again either. Better yet, spray them with the Simple Green and soak in a bucket or laundry tub and rinse them in water before you put them in the washer. Most of the icky stuff will be gone with the rinse water. Then wash them using that 1/2 cup of Simple Green to make sure.

Look at Wal Mart or the dollar store and see if you can find some Thunder Blast or a degreaser. My husband works on gas pumps and this happens all the time at my house. Thunder Blast or Greased Lightning in my machine.

Try a couple gallons of denatured alcohol, spray in there then run the rinse cycle.
Some sort of solvent.
