Vitamin D for morning sickness?

Looking for some feedback; has anyone been using Vitamin D to help control morning sickness and what were some of the results. Thanks.

Be careful when deciding to introduce anything into your system, especially vitamins or medications when pregnant.

Did you know you can get plenty of Vit D from the sun? If you wear sunscreen, darker-pigmented skin, cover up or live where you get little sun, you may not be getting enough. Also, Vit D is considered a fat-soluble vitamin. This means, when taking it for long periods of time or high dose in small period of time, can be toxic. It actually builds up in our bodies, especially fat tissues and organ (eg. liver) where it can become unsafe. So you see, as a pregnant woman, you will not want to gamble with this. However, if you insist on trialing it, you should get your levels tested and then your doctor will know how much to prescribe and for how long.

Additionally, morning sickness is common, especially for first-time moms. Some easier solutions are to increase your protein intake (animal protein is best, sorry if you're a vegetarian). Making sure to keep your blood sugar even, by eating small meals (w/ protein) throughout the day could abate a morning outbreak. However, when that doesn't work you can also teas that contain chamomile or ginger, which are perfectly safe. Some lozenges (Preggie Pop Drops) that have sour flavors can also benefit, especially w/ that salivating sensation. If you're interested in trialing w/ supplements, Vit B-6 is best, but should be combined w/ a B-complex. Unfortunately not all prenatals have enough when it comes to controlling morning sickness. The good thing, B Vitamins are soluble so the risk of toxicity is very low.

ps. many prego friends have done well w/ the latter alternative options. My best friend, however, had to rely on the Rx.

    Best to you.

The amount that you find in a prenatal vitamin is plenty - years of working with some real knowledgeable folks has taught me that not eating a couple hours before bed, eating some saltines in the morning, and sipping ginger ale (or ginger tea, which would be a little stronger) work well for most expectant moms.

Best wishes to you and the baby

i could recommend against doubling up on a dose of medicine, regardless of in case you do no longer think of it have been given in there. Odds are, that hour replaced into sufficient time on your physique to soak up a minimum of multiple the diet. even even with the undeniable fact that it relatively is in no way risk-free to anticipate your physique did no longer get any medicine till you vomit interior of 5 minutes of taking the medicine. do no longer double up on your diet. in simple terms wait till it's time to take your next universal dose.
