On the Sims 2 for the computer, is there a career mode?
I have played the Sims 2 on the playstation 2, and on there, you make your own Sim and play through a story mode. Like, you start off in a crappy house, and you have goals like "Get a job." Is it the same thing for the Sims 2 on the computer, or do you just choose and make a neighborhood.

The computer version lets you make a lot of your own choices. There's no story mode unless you buy the Sims Stories games. Those are more like the console versions. . For the computer version, the basics like wants and needs are the same, but it's a lot more complex and less structured. Each neighborhood has a brief story about the included residents, but nothing is mandatory. You should look through some gameplay videos on Youtube to see how different it is from the console one.
