citroen picasso problem?
i have a y reg 2001 picasso i bought it in january, all of a sudden a few weeks ago it started running really lumpy...hard to describe but it 'bunny hops' whilst driving, looks like a really bad learner driver! it also stalls at junctions or in low revs also stalls if reversing and sometimes even when idle! dad changed the oxygen sensor, put new spark plugs in etc etc but still no change, he said the throttle was loose so has tightened that up yesterday. but still runs lumpy.
when he put spark plugs in he adjusted them to the amount the manual said but engine was awful jumping about worse then ever so he has gone back the old methods of plugs and coils 15 ml or 25 ml or something?
please advise i don't have alot of money to repair if something major is wrong, someone said it could be the exhaust someone else said it could be the fuel pump but no one seems to know what they are talking about please help.
many thanks

Aj's tip is not a bad idea, but I'd be thinking TDC (cam position) sensor (£20) myself. If it's not working then the engine doesn't know when to fire properly, stutters, jumps and stalls (often a low revs such a coming to a stop at lights). You could also clean the injectors or replace them, cheap and easy.
BTW: de-pressurize the fuel system first if you work on it. It's easy to do, and much safer. Your dad should know how. (remove the fuel pump fuse and start/try-to-start the engine a few times = done) = easy & safe!
Maybe get a garage to read the ECU also.
Since you don't have much money, test the TDC sensor first with a multimeter. Call the dealer up and ask for the normal value (in ohms) for the sensor and then remove it (two bolts) and test it.
It certainly is not something major with the engine itself. Even if it's the ECU you can get one from a breakers for cheap money.
BTW: If the engine starts, revs high, idles and runs fine in neutral, then it can't be the fuel system! I'm betting TDC sensor or ECU (computer) (both cheap).

I would go back to your original problem of seeming to be like a Kangaroo. That is usually indicative of a fuel problem.A sign of not getting enough fuel.I would try changing the fuel filter. As your car is a post 90 car it will be fuel injection and not a carburettor. So it will be attached by nuts to the metal piping that runs to the injector.Undo these carefully as petrol will spurt out under pressure.Put some rags near by.Also make sure the pipe is not turning as well or you could end up twisting and cracking it when undoing the nuts.A filter would cost about £20 or there about.
Ring up a Citroen Garage and ask for the workshop or parts and ask them what the plug gap should be.Guessing at 15 to 25 thou of a inch is not a good idea. You want them set right.
It could be possible you have a fuel pump problem but go with the petrol filter first as it sounds a bit like a blockage and its the cheaper option.

Check the bulbs then check the liquid christal display by pressing on it and see if the liquid is still in the display.
