Recommendations for foundation etc?
I want to take a step up from my cheap drugstore cosmetics. I have some nice things already, but really need new face stuff.
I need primer, foundation, concealor, and mattifying powder. The whole thing really.
I live in the UK, and want to be able to try this stuff (its hard to find things in my shade). So I'll be mooching around Boots, Debenhams, John Lewis House of Fraser etc.
I've been looking at Urban Decay, Too Faced, Benefit mostly.
But I don't have anyone to ask recommendations, testers only help so much :)
So, any suggestions?
No MAC, its too far.
I can get Prep+Prime online okay :)
Its just coloured things I NEED to try out first

'Foundation-Faker' by Benefit £20.00 is the best thing i ever tried, it makes your skin look like it's been air brushed and has perfect coverage. It basically gives you a very beautifull natural look. Also, it has the cutest packaging!
'Primer Potion' by Urban Decay is just the best, it's great to keep eye shadow in place and gives you a great glow. I'm very happy with it. It's best to go online to chack the price but they sell them in Boots.

So what are some of the best foundation choices to use on your face? You surely want something that isn't too runny on your face or in fact, something that is just too soft and does not give enough coverage at all! Good thing there is a lot of make up out there for you choose between and find that perfect foundation that is long lasting, pure, non allergic, and of course gives you a nice finish and makes your face appeal even more younger and healthier! Here are some make up that I have tried that I found have worked the best.
Neutrogena Skin Clearing Make up -
If you have a few blemishes that you want to cover, this make up sure is handy! That is because it has medication added into it, to even fight back against your blemishes. Sounds like a miracle but it does truly work, that is of course if you don't glop it on! This make up is for lighter coverage and should be worn if you are going out shopping and running other errands, it is not the fanciest of cover up foundations and it can be found at most drug stores, it needs to be given a go though since it covers up nice for the price and does really work well with anyone's skin type!
Revlon Color stay Liquid Foundation -
Now this make up is certainly long lasting and covers up very nicely! It can last up to about 12 hours and it does not run down your face at all! In fact it kind of feels as if it is literally glued on your face, and gives you a very matte look, covering up any flaws you might see in your face. The only drawback with this brand is that it is very tough to get off! Once it is on it definitely just wants to stay put and you will have to use warm water to scrub it off which can take about five minutes give or take. Yes that sounds grueling and not needed but I myself find it nothing compared to what this foundation gives to you, flawless skin!
Many high end make up do offer great coverage but drugstore brands can live up to it as well, it depends what look you are going for and how well you want to implement it! It is all about experimentation.

Nars primer has good reviews..
I like MAC's Prep+Prime, but then you said MAC is too far..
Foundation wise I like Makeup Forever HD foundation liquid, Makeup Forever Face and Body liquid foundation, Diorskin Forever Flawless liquid foundation, Revlon Colorstay (drugstore :D), and Everydayminerals.com mineral base :D
Mattifying powder.. any powder that does the job man!

I love benefit.. especially for concealers. I use their erase paste and it's awesome.
If you have Laura Mercier around you .. They have the best foundation (well.. for me anyway).
