Any advice on tattoo placement?

I'm researching for a third tattoo (will probably be 3 to 4 years before I get it). I am stumped about where I'd like to have it. I want it some place that will be easily covered if need be, a somewhat personal spot, and something that I will see regularly. I have a green man on my right shoulder blade (back is probably out of the question for my new tat, I'm a bit disappointed in my first tat that I don't see it myself more regularly), and a celtic knot cuff around my left ankle. It will be in remembrance of my former employer and in recognition of a very good friend I worked with, and I want to get it when I graduate with a master's degree in speech-language pathology, in recognition of the significant impact those two people have made on my life. I don't really have a tattoo anywhere that expresses the significance of my husband in my life, so I don't really want to get it in a place like on a breast or anything, but still somewhere somewhat personal.

Also, any links to flash of a painted bunting would be appreciated.

Placement for something personal for your husband...

Put it just below the belt line on your hip, not too low.

You can share it or not..Hide it when you need to...

It's just secret enough to make him feel special.

I have only one tattoo and have had it ten years, I thought about it really carefully, and haven't regretted having it done. I had a tiger lily on the back of my shoulder. In that place it is semi public, I can cover it up at work (also at a school) but show it off when I like. My sister in law had one on her upper arm and has spent a small fortune having it lasered off. I figure that even when I get bored of it I can't see it unless I look. Good luck it hurt like hell!! I would prefer to go through labor again rather than have another one!!!

"Somewhat personal" limits u to a few areas, like bikini, low-low back, butt, and inner thighs. I agree breast is out. I happen to think under the arm is cool, like on the underside of the arm, closer to the shoulder but on the armpit side. The bikini area IS most private but also most obvious area when talking about hiding tatoos. Good luck!

Source(s): I have several tatoos n am also in search of another (prob on the back of my neck where I can hide it or show it when I want. )
