Is 200 MB a Lot of Space?

I want to install EA Download Manager, but I'm not sure if it's too big for my computer. Can someone tell me if it will slow my Sims 2 Double Deluxe down and if it's bigger than iTunes.

Putting programs on your computer doesn't slow anything down (except while you're actually installing the program. Running a program does. But if you're playing Sims, you're not downloading files, so the download manager won't be running.

200mb is not exactly small, but it's not a lot of space anymore either. Most new computers come with at least a 120gb (1,200mb) hard drive these days. You should have plenty of space.

Since you are familiar with iTunes, I'll put it this way. iTunes is a 93mb file when you download it from the Apple site. EA Download manager is roughly twice that size.

As the other person said, simply installing a program will not slow your computer down. Only running a program can do that. Since you won't be downloading while playing Sims 2, you are good to go.

200 MB is a fifth of a GB. If you have a 500 GB hard drive, it would be .02% of your drive. iTunes requirements call for 200 MB free space (if you look at the bottom of the iTunes window it will tell you how much space your actual music files take up. Mine is 11 GB, which I consider a small music collection). Your gameplay will not be affected if you download the EA manager. If you are on a Mac you can open Activity Monitor and see which programs are using up the most active memory, and see how much space is available on you computer. I can't remember the name for the similar program on Windows. Process Monitor or something.

That all depends on the current specs of your computer. A common misconception is that the more a Hard Drive is filled, the slower a computer is. What really slows a computer down is the fact that software that starts with the computer needs to access your RAM to load. Depending upon how much RAM you have available will determine the speed of your PC.

In short, no, 200 MB is not a lot of data these days.

    1 CD=700 MB

    1 DVD= 4.7 GB

    1024 MB = 1 GB

    No its not enough....

EA Download Manager is about 21mb...it will allow you update your games with latest patches they are about 400mb or more it depends upon the how much modification they have done......

If the patch package is about e.g: 400mb, And then you will install it ...It means you need more free space.

the Hard disk space does not effect the speed of computer however RAM effects The Speed.....
