I can't connect to my wireless Router.?

I just bought a new laptop,and I set my wireless router up in my mom apartment we live in the same complex but my apartment is like around the corner from my mothers...my connection comes up but it's very weak and drops plus only my router name comes up....how can I connect to my connection because everybody else connection comes up to but there locked....what can I do?

    are you surrounded by by brick walls or cement? that sometimes weakens the connction greatly

    i recommend that you contact your Wireless internet provider and ask them for help
