A few points about vegetarianism..?

Hey...

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on what to replace the meat with on a Sunday roast..?

And I've read that protein shakes are a good source for veggies, and make for good, quick, easy breakfasts. Can anyone expand on this for me please? I'm not gonna bulge out or something if I have protein shakes am I? lol...

And if you have any ideas on nutritious meals, please share them. :)

Here are some options for a Sunday roast: http://www.veganstore.com/vegan-food-items/thanksg...

As for protein shakes, you won't bulge out if you aren't drinking more than you need. If you work out regularly, one or two servings a day should be fine. If you are concerned though, limit yourself to a few shakes a week. Brown rice protein and soy protein can be found at GNC.

I tell everyone who is starting out to stir fry their favorite vegetables with wheat pasta and brown rice. It's easy to whip up and a simple way to get nutrients packed into one meal. Fill your plate with fruits/veggies, grains (whole wheat pasta, brown rice, couscous), and a protein (tempeh, seitan, tofu, mock meat.)

Speaking as one who is not a vegetarian but getting more into vegetables and also seeking high protein foods, I will say that some things are considered meat-ish, in my opinion, but good for a vegetarian diet, like buttermilk, eggs, yogurt, etc. You can have rice and beans to replace the Sunday roast and put salsa on it or barbecue sauce so it tastes more meat-ish. Some protein shakes I definitely recommend so go for it!
