Because California is the capital of the entertainment world and, he has definite entertainment value. His recent snide comment about not visiting Arizona because he was worried they might deport him back to Austria, while not funny, does have merit.

Arnold isn't the problem, it's the people of California who are the problem. Arnold just folded under pressure and tried to work with them because the people were not allowing substantive reform they needed.

I'm no Arnold fan, but had he gotten his way from the start, the people of California would be much better off. They over powered him and basically screwed themselves.

It seems that Arnold just gave in and started going along for the ride, when it would have been much more principled to resign. Unless he did it to try to get some good done for California in stead of none. He would have to explain that one probably after he's done.

He was the BEST choice the people of California had at that time.

I am a Californian, and I can agree that he was elected mainly because he was a movie star.

Arnold like many others ran on how he will not raise taxes but did and destroyed the budget with wasteful spending. When someone runs on the pledge to cut taxes it is a way to fake out they know nothing.

In that election, there were something just north of 150 people running against Gray Davis, many of whom were porn stars.
