Jehovah's Witnesses: Have Christian groups lost all credibility ... Because they're PAGAN?
I have enjoyed chatting with the Y/A Witnesses because they are passionate about the things they believe. So passionate, I would rather post on their Q/A than I would...say...an atheist who seems to only come here to mock.
Be honest with me for a sec..When Christians post good, in context bible passages; is it not true that in your mind's eye; NONE of their input is of any value, or credibility, because their beliefs are rooted in PAGANISM according to your Watchtower teachings?
Got a couple of good JW responses thus far. I was hoping DOT and Tara would jump in here because that's who was on my mind when I wrote this Q.
Now Tara; as a Trinitarian falling at the feet of Jesus, (And believing in his deity) in worship as his disciples did (Matt. 28:9): Could you be honest enough to say: "We are all Satanists just like the disciples of old?"
Is this why our good, in context bible passages have no credibility in your eyes? It is true that every JW believes this way but: "are too mousy to admit it?"
I'mmmmmmm Backkkkkkkkk!!!!!! This question was violated/deleted for a day; but was reinstated. Yeah!!! And thanks to the Yahoo/answer team.

Have I lost credibility because I am considered Pagan? ...lets consider a few thoughts:
I finally realized only a few JW's read the entire post of those in Christendom. To wit:
I have brought up the fact in several answers, that Dr Julius Mantey took issue with Bethel (Watch Tower in New York) over the Appendix on John 1:1, in the LP NWT,in which they mis quoted his manual of Greek Grammar, and rules of Greek Grammar. Dr Mantey subsequently wrote them on this, and further explained to the WT the true meaning of John 1:1 that it cannot be translated a god. I have yet to have a comeback or reply from any of them on this .
This may have to do with the now open facts, that Nathan Knorr, Milton Henschel, Albert Schroder, Karl Klein, and George Gangas, previously known as the New World Bible Translation Committee, have no training in Biblical Languages whatsoever. That said, it is understandable there is no consistency on translating, or using brackets for [other] in more places than they do to propagate the created being of Jesus/Michael.
Ergo, how is it then, that all Christendom, including Dr Julius Mantey, a trinitarian (yes, we all know that "trinity" is not in the Bible) who worships Jesus Christ and Jehovah God the Father, are Pagan?
For 30+ years I've read my Watchtower books, NWT, KIT, and had many good conversations at the fence with JW's . I also realize, most Jehovah Witnesses are passionate, dedicated, sincere, to which I find admirable. (I dont find admirable the fact they are admonished to not use any material from outside their WT publishing sources).
They think I am blinded by Satan...I always ask, just exactly what issue am I blinded to? Please Explain that I might be in the Truth. About 10% actually tell me: "because you are a trinitarian." Which translates to mean: You believe Jesus said He was in fact Jehovah God.
So to the lady who thinks I worship Satan....no, not really, I simply disagree on the only real issue separating Jehovah Witnesses from Christendom. It is: Who is Jesus, (?) Michael or God incarnate, the I AM Moses talked to, the One who shares Glory with Jehovah God in all of Isaiah 43
As to credibility, I must weigh in the balance what is said to be Truth. From Russell to the NWT Committee, I find an ongoing scholastic dishonesty and too many false prophecies to hold the views of the WTBTS as credible..
I encourage those who Love Jehovah to inquire more. .
[edit] I have read many things but to read: "When I encounter a member of Christendom, I give him the degree of respect that Satan deserves....or I cant wait for Jehovah to destroy them, or I pray that Jehovah will destroy them shortly".....that is truly a bainwashed mind.
Jesus came to seek and save....and JW's are in great glee to have people destroyed? What is wrong with this picture?

In a word, yes. As a former Jehovah's Witness who was brought up from birth into that faith (until the 1970's), we used to publicly declare our belief that Christendom was part of false religion, Babylon the Great, the Harlot of Revelation, soon to be destroyed at Armageddon. We believed that only we had "the truth" and we were God's sole channel of communication (since 1919).
We believed that doctrines such as hell-fire, the eternal soul and the Trinity were pagan through and through. We believed that the cross, and Easter and Christmas were pagan through and through. Indeed, their book "What does the Bible Really Teach" confirms those beliefs.
The only two things that seem to have changed since the mid 1970's is they no longer mention dates and they no longer stand up in public to point the finger at Roman Catholics and Protestants to openly denounce them as following Satan.
They still declare that they are the only true Christians, however, and if you read between the lines, only they are going to survive Armageddon (still imminent, even though it's about 100 years overdue). How wonderful it must be to feel so self-righteous. I know, because I used to feel like that.

Wow...Tara just said it, a Satanist is better than a Trinitarian! So I guess she means Devil worshippers have a far better chance with God than God worshippers!
But where is DOT and when will he/she add to all these mousy thoughts initiated by Tara???
____________
Not surprising, and we all know who reported it, the one who didn't bother to come in and answer!
But just to answer the question more clearly, the Watchtower was rooted in paganism and circular reasoning will say they have lost all credibility because of their *history* according to the very same words of the whims of men in Brooklyn, N. Y. !

Well, General Patten:
That depends on what you mean by “credible.” Members of Christendom are without a doubt worshippers of Satan and in a metaphorical sense; they prostrate themselves at his feet every day. Do you know what the difference is between a Trinitarian and a Satanist? Nothing, expect for the fact that the Satanist is totally honest about who he is worshipping. So the Satanist (because of his honesty) is the better person.
When I encounter a member of Christendom, I give him the degree of respect that Satan deserves. I realize that he has a very powerful master who wishes to destroy me. So I treat him with extreme caution. Going into the battle zone against the apostate hordes and pagan opposers is an extremely difficult job – but somebody has got to do it. Every day, the apostates try to pollute my mind with their spiritual pornography. They try to infiltrate my mind with doubts and a few times, they almost succeeded! And that is why I pray that Jehovah will destroy them shortly.
The sad thing is that my elder told me I was “being a bit too enthusiastic” in the Kingdom Ministry. How can a person be too enthusiastic in serving Jehovah? I just don’t understand it. What is up with the mousy witnesses?

Contrary to the wishful thinking of some idiots, Jehovah's Witnesses ARE Christians. And a true Christian is someone who fully rejects the God-dishonoring, unscriptural teaching of the Trinity. To accept the trinity is to reject true Christianity.

First, the watchtower publishes from their own "modified" new world translation bible, which is inaccurate to begin with.
Christians are not pagan, some of the holiday's they celebrate are of Pagan origins, but that doesn't make them wrong, just mislead.
Watchtower has no legitimate sourcing, because they don't want to know the truth.
Sad to say, but most people just follow the crowd, and they are all going in the wrong direction.
True believers are those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior, no matter what any one says. It's not the label on the outside, it's the belief on the inside that's going to count on judgment day!
Have a great day,
TOM

No, we would not go so far as to say that. If they have done a good amount of their own research, that is definitely credible. Unfortunately many are taught lies and are ignorant of the truth about God. That's why we encourage deep study of the Bible.

No according to the identity of true christianity found in the book that most people claim to follow. It's not that hard for people to find the origin of most religions today, They are just comfortable where they are because it fits into their lives.

Even though we know we have the truth,we still are respectful toward others even in our minds. What really goes through my mind is thinking how can I help this sincere religious person to know the real truth of the Bible.

JW's crack me up with their "all other denominations are pagan" teachings. They meet on the most holy pagan day of the week, Sunday. There is no biblical basis for worshiping the God of the bible on Sunday and yet they continue to do it each and every week while pointing their "your a pagan" fingers at everyone else. It's laughable...
