Is this a "designer breed"?

I asked a few questions in the Dog section lately and I think some of you guys would know.

I had to take one of my dogs to the Vet today and at the entrance people can post Lost & Found stuff. Well there was a flyer with "Rare Miniature Labradoodles!" So I am thinking this would be a miniature poodle and lab mix? Right? "Guaranteed Hypoallergenic!" "The most loyal and loveable dog you will own!"

This lady was asking $2.400.00 (I kid you not) for "house pet" and "show quality are more costly"

Do they show these types now?

I am not dog savvy, I know how to take care of my 3, and do not believe in buying a dog, but to each their own. I just feel this ad was a joke. $2,400 and UP. For a mixed dog?

Update:

Oh no! I am not wanting to buy one...I pretty much stood there with my mouth open in disbelief - that is TWO mortgage payments here!!!

Bottom line, if it is a mixed dog, it is a mutt, regardless of what these rip-off breeders want you to think! None of your credible kennel clubs recognize the 'designer' dogs as breed specific. They can't be 'show dogs' This is a big time rip-off designed to trap people who are not 'dog' savvy. Run away as fast as you can. You can find 'designer' dogs at rescue shelters for less than 100 bucks that will please you much more than this one. It can only be a 'pet' quality dog cause there is no registered breed for a Labradoodle. Run, run, run away

a million) A small mutt. mixed with 2 or extra small breeds. 2) because of the fact which you're paying countless money for a mutt from a breeder. those "breeders" have not any thought what they're doing, do no longer care approximately their canines's well-being, and are in basic terms including to the overpopulation project. you ought to truly get a cute canines from a shelter without paying countless money and saving a existence. 3) with the aid of going and checking them out. Are their canines happy? Is the situation sparkling? Do they be attentive to on the subject of the breed? Are they attempting to extra useful the breed? Do they tutor their canines? Did they get all the genetic well-being exams completed on the domestic canines and oldsters? Are they AKC (or different) registered? Can they aid you %. a pup out of the muddle that ought to be stable for you? Can they practice you on the thank you to shield the breed? All those questions ought to be spoke back exact.

It is ridiculous, and no, they are not showing these dogs (unless there is a "Dumb Hybrid Convention" that I am not aware of). What is even more depressing is that shelters are full of these mixes that people could get for a hundred or less, and yet they are conned into buying these mutts for thousands just because they have cutsie names.

Sadly yes, a Labradoodle is considered to be a designer dog, so is a Chiweenie, (pretty obvious mix), if you really want it, go for it, but i dont think 2 and a half grand is a good price for ONE dog.
