Where can I get a custom closet system in the Khobar/Dammam area?

I am thinking of something like the Shulte Freedomrail System, where you can put in shelves, long/short hanging, shoe organizer, drawers/cabinets, in the size, style, materials, and configuration you want in your bedroom closet, storage/pantry, laundry room. I've seen the Elfa system at Howard's Storage, but the price of that is crazy high because it ships from Australia, and the salespeople at Howard's are clueless about how to design a space and don't even seem to know what components they sell and how much they cost. SACO has some components, but not enough to do much more than shelves. There used to be a place (near King Khalid Street, I think) that had California Closets, but it seems that they either closed or moved. Any ideas? Thanks!

Update:

Thanks, Mintee. I have the IKEA catalogue, but it seems like you have to be an engineer to design and order their products (brackets, legs, handles, screws...). I'll check out the new place out by Extra (we call that road "the Extra Highway"--don't know what it's really called). Did you ever see a place in Khobar, somewhere near Swaiket and King Khalid Street, that sells customs closets? I can picture it on the east side of the road, but can't remember which road!!! Thanks again.

ok, since you already checked IKEA and SACO i wont talk to you about them. most the places i know are just in jeddah but there's "Creative Closets" that i'm pretty sure have at least a showroom in Khobar if not they have a branch in Bahrain. here's their website:

    http://www.cw.ae/

you could also try showrooms and hotel suppliers (i totally love these), the people providing all the metal, wood and wire raks and displays in all boutiques and departments stores, to create your own. you usually find these suppliers in the old city centers of the city...if not then just ask around i'm sure someone knows where they are.

note: bin shihon - abu omar hotel & resturant equipment in jeddah, nice selection of china and housekeeping trollies and such, i don't know if they have a branch in the east but here's their number +966 2 252 2289

but honestly i think you should aim for a local carpenter (try to find an old saudi, an egyptian or a skilled indian to do the job...trust me they get the job done. whatever you do don't hire a Bengali, i heard the eastern province is packed with them but Truly they are by far the worst i have ever dealt with)

go online and do your research, collect as many photos and designs you can find. take precise measurements of the space you're planning, dive in that office supplies/arts and crafts stock you have and go crazy....i did that in virtually every room in my house from walk in his and hers wardrobes to pantry and laundry supplies storage systems that looks like it's out of BH&G magazine and all the way to my over the garage art studio in old hijazi islamic design (aahh...that place turned gorgeous)

as i said before i live in jeddah so i pretty much have access to great carpenters and good quality reasonably priced supplies...and since i know every little nook or know someone who does i spent a good month (about 2 hours 3 times a week) visiting suppliers and gathering stuff not to mention perfecting my "blue print" and making sure i explained every little bit to the man who's going to build it. it paid off, i saved a bundle and i swear if i had the time i would've taught my self and hammered away....the gratification of designing and putting together all the elements was like a natural high that i still get every time i think about that project.

if you've been in khobar long enough or have friends that have give it a shot...build your own.

sorry i couldn't list you some shops and numbers though.

Ikea has those.. you can choose from a different type of peice to suit what you need and fit it all together..

also theres another shop.. I cant remember the name to save my life, but if you know the new road that goes from the middle of pepsi road. I think its called the old khobar dammam corniche highway.. anyways.. it runs from pepsi road up to the new movenpic hotel.. and theres a newish city plaza (center point), sultan gardens, hyper panda (which used to be the old giant store in khobar), and extra up at the end.. well in the little road that is right before movenpic, there is a strip mall of newish shops on the east side and there is a brand new closet making shop at the end of one of those strip malls. they are wooden and they can custom build a closet system to whatever you want.. its a bit pricey, but they are so nice to look at.. you just tell them what you want and they build it for you (western american style)
