Roller hockey usually has 4 players on the floor instead of 5 like ice. In roller hockey there is usually no checking allowed. Unlike ice hockey, there aren't really distinct zones because there is no icing or offsides penalties. Stopping is a bit different with roller and making tight turns--since you don't have an edge to work with on wheels. The puck doesn't move as quickly either. Practice skating on inlines A LOT and you should be just fine.

well the difference is that field hockey tou play on the field then roller hockey you play in a rink but you are on wheels then ice you are in a rink but on ice and your skate is a blade not wheels

You cannot start and stop as quickly. You cannot take turns as sharply.
