Plastic strip on side of car coming loose?
I'm not exactly what to call it, but I have a 2005 GMC envoy that has a plastic strip across the doors and on the front driver side door it is loose in the front and every time I open the door it rubs up against the front part of my car and is starting to scratch. I tried gorilla glue and it didn't stay. anyone know what I can use, and adhesive or something to get it to stay. I don't want to have to take it to the mechanic or dealership and wast a bunch of money.
Thanks a lot!
oh and here is a good picture of the car where you can see the side panel strip 'thing' Thanks again!!!

those are held on with double sided tape from the factory, I would think super glue would work.

any high strength adhesive should work, I would think gorilla glue would work pretty well, unless it is the wrong application like glue meant just for wood instead of metal/plastic/paint.
The key is you need to be sure to prep the surface. Clean it up with household cleaner, then wipe down with rubbing alcohol before giving it another try.
If not you should ask or look at the hardware or autoparts store. You should be looking for exterior trim tape such as from 3m.

get some caulking for a bath tub and carefully glue it back on. if you use anything else, the vibrations will loosen it from the side of the car and ruin the bond. its cheap and easy and beats waiting a month to get into a dealer ship for a little fix up.
