Can Nitrogen be purified if so then how?

    The atmosphere is 79% nitrogen. It can be separated by fractional distillation of liquified air.

    The ELEMENT Nitrogen IS pure, and needs no further action.

    When you combine it with other elements you will make COMPOUNDS, but then the nitrogen is no longer declared to be "pure".

    if you speak ONLY of Elemental Nitrogen, then it is pure all by itself.

    denitrification takes nitrogen out of nitrides in the soil (NO3) and into athmospheric nitrogen (N2). bacteria in the soil can complete this process.
