Old big screen question?

I have an old big screen in the basement(before flat panel tv era) i use for Xbox 360 sometimes.

I noticed it has a componet in...

I know this was before HD times but im wondering if it would give me some kind of improvment by hooking the Xbox 360 up via this componet video in... rather than composite

i know they are both analog and it was before HD, im also curious as to why they put this on here back before HD times.

Thanks

Using component will support 1080p gaming, but only 480p DVD playback. However, if your TV only supports 480p, there shouldn't be an improvement from composite to component because they carry the same quality 480p signal.
