Do you agree "Happiness is not destination but a journey"?

One of the objectives in achieving goals is "to be happy". But don't you think happiness is something to be achieved while you are on path of achieving goals or destination and not after reaching there ?

Happiness is a journey in one sense and the ultimate destination in another.

As the feeling of elation due to a situation or event or thought, idea or imagination, it is more like an emotion that instills a sense of wellness in our mind about our own self...... in that day-to-day sense of the term, happiness if of course a journey and depends on all the posts, sightings and doings during the journey.

As the 'ultimate destination', Happiness is a state of being where one is perennially preserving a true sense of wellness within oneself thereby remaining unaffected by whatever happens in the life and world around oneself....... it is the wisdom and skill of remaining unattached to our physical and material world so that nothing can disturb the calm, cool, collected peace of mind... in such a state of being, we acquire the greatest power of complete balance!! It is a kind of Happiness that can be stable and sustained forever and once this goal is reached, there indeed remains no other urge/goal because of the absolute balance achieved!! Well, it is a concept envisaged by the ancient Hindu Philosophy ("NITYANANDA") and reiterated and further explained by Bhagwat Gita, but almost next to impossible to attain in real life.... may be that's why, it is the 'ultimate' goal of life.

I would therefore conclude that happiness seems to make more sense as a journey to us normal people, but conceptually it can be viewed in a 'truer' form as the ultimate goal in life!! ('truer' implies consistent and stable over longer duration)

You must always have a destination to have a journey even when your not aware of what the destination is going to be.

I recently discovered, that the destination makes the journey. So destinate, create objectives, that allow for happiness along the way, is my sure philosophy, though not fault proof.

I apologize for my contrariwise thinking, but, it would seem that if those "little things" are truly important to you, then they cease being "little things", yes? I believe it's a matter of importance and priority place on things by people, themselves - subjectivity, que no? Ultimately, I agree. I've enjoyed many a journey, sojourned long and far, met many cool people, had many an adventure...I have yet to reach an actual "destination". Again, back to subjectivity.

I would say happiness is not a fixed point. It is the way we define our experience and interact with the world. There is no single point at which you can say that this is happy, but rather a sliding scale of happiness, that can be improved upon, so in this sense happiness is a journey, in that we should enjoy the process of become happier with ourselves and our lives and not keep thinking that to be happy is to get to some arbitrary state where all things are perfect.

You are exactly correct. Happiness is achieved by reaching goals and there are always goals to set and achieve.

In the context that you've put it, the answer is certainly: YES.

However, it still remains to be seen IF "true happiness" is attainable, even in the wishful degrees of illusion!

Notwithstanding, humanity seems to be fond of generating psychologically-amplified spikes that dare to dance to the funnier tunes above the background noises of Reality.

Life can be made even trickier, when we buy into paradigms that we don't quite understand - but that's only human nature, breathing in the way of the world.

For now, like fools in the rainstorms of happiness, we remain blissfully soaked in the ever-unfolding love.

Happiness can not be a destination but a way to make journey comfortable and joyable to reach destination.

Yes... The only thought which makes you sad when you are happy and happy when you are sad is" This time will also pass!"

So surely Happiness is not the Destination

In the big picture its a journey, but in the smaller picture its a destination

Let's say: "Happiness is not destination but moments in the journey"
