Is your question right? Hell? Exothermic or endothermic? Given to chemistry students in a university in the US? How come hell is a subject in chemistry class anyway? Are you sure you know what you are talking about? Maybe in religion class I think hell could be a topic but chemistry class I doubt your veracity on this.
Beside the point, have you been in hell yet? I doubt it again. Whether it is exothermic or endothermic we will never know until we get there, don't we? Are you sure this students are in the US? Maybe they are students in China or Kenya. I don't think chemistry lab students will waste time in arguing such topic in a laboratory.

Exothermic.
Those who believe in hell assume it is hot. It couldn't be endothermic because once heat is absorbed from the environment, it cools down.

Its supposed to be a place where they bar-b-q people so technically it should give heat. But hey! bar-b-q party everyday? wouldn't that be nice.

If these are the type of questions that are asked,i would be seeking a new university to attend.
