Should Lennie from mice and men be held responsible for actions?
I think on one end, if he had not killed Curleys wife, he would have eventually killed someone one way or another. But on another end he was not completely conscious of killing her either, he didn't mean to, and didn't have any ill intent with all the things he killed. Maybe he should be put away for the safety of everyone else? Let me hear what you think. Please be complete.

No. Even if he were a, for lack of a better term, "normal" man, within the confines of the law he would not be held accountable.
If Bill and Holly are playing in a treehouse, and Bill accidentally knocks Holly out of the house and she dies it is accidental manslaughter. Bill did not intend to commit a crime. It would not matter if Bill was mentally competent or not; the only deciding factor would be whether or not he had malicious intent behind his actions. It's the same with Lennie. He did not intend to commit murder, therefore he has nothing be be held responsible for.
Normally I would have ignored this question and told you to do your own homework, but it's pretty obvious you read this story and what more can I ask for, :)
