The Arizona Law, why is it wrong?!?
Ok, let me get this straingt. I'm a Puertorrican, working on the United States. So I'm form the latino community. At first I HEARD about the law, and I thought it was the most vile, corrupt, injust thing I've ever seen since the Hitler regime. That is until I READ IT. It DOES NOT say the following:
- They won't chase LEGAL LATINOS
- They MUST have a reason to contact you first, it's not like they can arrest & deport you for speaking spanish!
- THEY ARE PROTECTING: Latinos, American Caucasian, African American, Asians, BUT NOT ILLEGALS.
- IT doesn't say ANYTHING about allowance of racial profiling due to appereance. As a matter of fact, the officer needs to have 2 valid reasons to stop you before asking for your license or other.
- Mexico arrests & deports illegals, why can't we do it?
That being said, if you have something to say in favor, or against, please, quote something FROM the bill, not something you heard on the street. I have nothing against mexicans, OR, latinos, but I don't like the idea of not protecting our borders.
Thank you & I await your respectful answer...
The thing is that they're going on rallies and protests... yet they havent even read the bill... When they're asked to quote which part of the bill is illegal, they just can't quote it. Or just partially quote small parts and mix them up... which is wrong...
Totally agree with what you said Meeghan.

Nothing wrong with it at all, this law has been on the federal books for 70 years, Arizona just elected to start enforcing it since the federal government won't
People that have no idea what it is are the only ones complaining and those people are not even from Arizona

Please keep in mind most of the opposition to this new law is from people who refuse to read it and have only heard about it. If anything, it's a law that further supports laws that are already in place and have been for decades.
The real problem here isn't the law, or the wording of it. It's that humans are far from perfect and people are freaking out that law enforcement will read too much into it and overstep their boundaries. At some point, it will happen. It's the law of averages and people will screw up.
But there are protections in place against just deporting people on the spot and if you are a legal citizen- then you should be able to promptly identify yourself. Just a reminder- if a law enforcement officer asks you to identify yourself (regardless of race) you are legally obligated to do so.

it isn't wrong. the problem is there are stupid people who havent read the law. the others just have illegals here in their family and they are tryingto keep them here ILLEGALLY.
