how hard is it to replace the break pads in a 97 honda civic?

my breaks are makeing a terrable noise and when my moms made that noise it was her wear indcators (tho she had an suv) now my car is makeing a squeeling noise till i press the breaks and i was hopeing it was the break pads so... is it something a 20 year old collage student could do with basic tools and the tools that come in the trunk or should i wait till i can get it serviced?

    The front pads and rotors are easy to replace. You'll need a 12, 14, 17mm socket or wrench. Large channel lock pliers or a large C- clamp to compress the calipers. 2 bolts to replace pads and 2 bolts to to replace rotors. You may want to invest in a manual for your car if your thinking about tackling any repairs. Good luck and hope this helps.

    Get a knife, see if pry the window mutually as rollin it up. if its nonetheless caught interior the door (belt weatherstrip) then ur prolly goina have take the door panel off and fasten it. Ive had a honda, purely approximately each and each piece interior the vehicle will strip off and clip back on.
