Women who took drug store pregnancy tests?

I've been feeling queasy in the mornings lately and although pregnancy is very unlikely (I have an IUD) I am going to take a pregnancy test for peace of mind. For those of you who have taken one recently, did it make a difference testing first thing in the morning vs in the middle of the day? Any brands better than others?

well it really depends on how long after ovulation you are. if its less than 2 weeks after ovulation the yes it does matter if its first morning urine or not. If its been 2 weeks + than it shouldn't matter unless you drank like a TON of water because that would make your urine very diluted and give you a false negative.

there are brands that are better than others if you are trying to test early first Response is one of the best! they all work but the sensitivity varies.

first thing you should know is that it is possible to become pregnant even with an IUD... i had one once before and still became pregnant there are times where an IUD will slip out into the toilet with out you noticing or sometimes they have been know to slip out of place inside of you with out knowing they have moved that's why its only 99% effective there is always that once percent chance... also honestly it doesn't matter morning or afternoon if you take the drug store pregnancy test although they do recommend morning time because more hormones are in the first urine of the morning but either way your best choice is to call and make an appointment with your OBGYN to be 100% sure your IUD is still in place and to get an !00% accurate result on your pregnancy test... sometimes the drug stores test are off and not reading correctly...

    Drugstore Pregnancy Test

First thing in the morning is the best time, because your urine isn't diluted with food and drink through the day, so it has the strongest concentration of Hcg hormone (I think that's what it's called)

As for tests, I did two 2-for-£3 test I bought in Asda the first day of my missed period. They both came up positive. I don't think it matters what brand you buy, but brands such as Clear Blue have a better reputation. If you're unsure, wait a few days after your missed period, then try again - the hormone gets stronger every day.

I used all dollar tree tests and it didnt matter what time of day i tested after i missed my epriod. I was one of the lucky ones that could take a pregnancy test at 7 at night after i had taken about 3 bathroom breaks and still have a vivd positive line. But, if your testing early they DO advise using first morning urine as it usually is most concentrated with HCG. But if your testing after you miss your period or a few days after then it shouldnt matter what time of day you test

i got a walgreens one step pregnancy test. only one with one test in the box. and my boyfriend and i bought it at like 7:30 at night i read the directions, i had never taken a pregnancy test before. soooo it said nothing about morning urine or anything so i did it around 8:30 at night. well i still got a positive. im thinking if i wouldve taken it earlier tho it would have been clearer but you could still tell it was a positive.

Hi, when i tested for pregnancy i done it at night time and it came up clearly positive it didn't make any difference what time of day it was. I used clearblue but i don't think the brand will make a difference either

i took my pregnancy test in the late afternoon and it was a dollar store brand, and it gave me accurate results..positive. it's been two wonderful years with my son! so no, it doesn't matter what time of day nor the brand of the test. they say it's better to take it in the morning...but i know so many people including myself who taken their test at a different time than the morning with accurate results. GOOD LUCK :)

Yes test in the morning. Your urine will be more concentrated at your first pee, and will be more accurate in picking up the HCG.

I got positives on the dollar store tests, and also the more expensive digital tests, so it's my experience that they all work!

I was a week late when I decided to take a test. I got a dollar store one that was like 3 dollars and took it around 8 o'clock at night and it was correct. :)
