Moving to Australia? Probably Sydney?
Alrighty, so I am currently living in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I do love it here but I'm seriously thinking about moving somewhere in Australia in the fall, probably Sydney but I'm open to suggestions. My question is, what's it like there? Living expenses, environment, employment, wages, people, culture...pretty much anything you can tell me I would like to know. I went to school for Marketing and have experience in retail and promotions, so I would probably be looking into that kind of work. Maybe hospitality or restaurant work as well. So ya, if you live there or have lived there, tips, info and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
Oops, I just noticed another similar question so I wanted to clarify something... I would not be moving permanently, probably just a year max. I would be getting a working holiday visa.

Melbourne is a better city than Sydney. Why do you think Melbourne continually comes in the top 5 list of most livable cities in the world? Just make sure to also check out the Gold Coast and pretty much all of the coast in the state of Queensland....breathtaking on the reef, the beaches, the islands are magical. The theme parks (MovieWorld, Sea World, Wet n Wild etc) are awesome up there too. It's buzzing though, so busy, not exactly 'too big' like Sydney...but it's good for a holiday I wouldn't want to live anywhere on the Gold Coast, as nice as it is, just for the everyday lifestyle the state of Victoria and particularly Melbourne is where it's at. Still a huge city, just not as massive and crowded as Sydney. :D Plus Melbourne culture/night-life/theatres/restaurants kick Sydney's ***!

You will love Sydney, I can't help with the work because I also will be looking for something when I return.
Good luck & I hope to see you around the snow fields one day.

Edinbugh is in general seen to be classier - it has the effective homes, the royal mile and the castle, some, no, a brilliant variety of spectacular pubs. it particularly is the extra touristy of the two. Glasgow has replaced for the extra suited recently, yet continues to be the unfavourable cousin to Edinburgh.
