Car seat question, is this dangerous?

The straps on my son's convertible car are constantly bunching up in his leg area when we tighten them down. We straighten them out when he gets in but as soon as we pull them tight, the straps fold over themselves in the buckle and won't sit flat no matter what we do. He is currently forward facing in the Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 car seat (purchased in mid-2008). He doesn't complain comfort-wise but I'm worried they won't protect him sufficiently in a crash. Anyone know if this is a safety issue?

I would call the manufacturer on this one. What else can you really do except buy a new car seat. I would worry about that being a safety issue. That's a bummer because I'm sure it was expensive.

i know what carseat your talking about because we have the same exact one also. however our's doesnt do that. if it keeps bunching and no matter if u fix the problem. and it still the same. then the car seat is damaged now. i would buy a new one. its not worth it. i dont think its safe. i under stand why u want to keep the car seat since its nice and roomy. but its no longer safe. i am also thinking of buying a new updated one for my daughter. just to be on the safe side.
