Avira AntiVir Premium antivirus software help?
I have Avira AntiVir Premium installed on my Windows Vista Home Basic SP2 computer, and when I start up my computer, Avira also starts. And I notice that the umbrella (to tell you if it's on or off) is closed (something is off). This is what the pop up says when i "roll-over" the icon in my toolbar at the bottom right.
Avira AntiVir Premium
-Guard: active
-MailGuard: stopped
-WebGuard: stopped
Normally if the last two were off, they'd say "inactive" instead of "stopped"
Also, when I open Avira, it says "Disabled" for "Online Protection", and then I click on the word "Disabled" and it says "Service Stopped" for both of them...
So, can you help me with this problem?

The first thing I would do is check for a Malware infection that may be blocking it. You can do this by scanning your PC with Malwarebytes.
Malwarebytes free version.
Another option would be to uninstall Avira, restart your PC and then reinstall. Sometimes this can be an easy fix.

Avira is always try to find something as virus or spy, which may actually not be there. My suggestion is you could have free version of avast which is far better and wont give you nuisance pointing out things which are not harmful.if you have a paid version of avira all you should do is uninstall and reinstall, then scan with it in safe mode.but, instead of adding malware software the avast is having all the modules which protect and also very light.

u change reinstall it or go in uninstal programs and change with guard u want to install or not,but i think i won't work well with vista, avira premium is an outstanding antivirus but vista is just waist of time,

maybe the firewall is blocking it. Allow Avira FULL ACCESS in firewall. If that doesn't work, uninstall and re-install. If that too doesn't work do a hard drive recovery (delete your hard drive and install windows all over again)

The computer crashes aren't likely to be the result of any software but more a hardware issue caused by some bad components.
