People say I can do better than him, but I dont want to?

I've been going out with my boyfriend for a little over 4 months and I really like him. (I know I'm not in love as im only 16) but some of my friends are telling me I can do better. See, I know that's true but I honestly do like him. I dont want to let what others think influence my opinion, but I've been in the other side before where Iknew someone was better than the other and i thought they should break up. My friends really don't like my boyfriend, but should I listen to their opinions or listen to my heart?

Now that I realize that I'm asking if i should listen to my heart or not I feel kind of stupid but I really would like some honest opinions.

Well, why don't they like your boyfriend? Do they think he's cheating on you or not treating you how you deserve? If so, maybe you should re-evaluate your relationship. Or do they not like your boyfriend because he's lower in the "social pyramid" than you are? If so, then it's a bit more complicated. You really really like your boyfriend. You're mature enough to understand that what you're feeling isn't love. As much as I want to say "listen to your heart" and to stay with your guy thick and thin, there's a risk of losing your friends over this. Are your friends the kind of people who would drop you like a hot potato if you disregard their opinions and continue dating the guy? Although people say that they're not your "true friends," I know myself how hard it is to make friends in highschool, and how hard it would be on you if you lost them. If you're risking your friendship over this guy, think about what will happen when you move on to college. Friends are forever and guys come and go, especially when you're young. It's a matter of which you value more -- your friends or your guy. The ideal situation is if your friends are understanding enough of how much you care about your boyfriend and accept him even though they don't think he's worthy of you. The fact that he makes you happy should be enough for your friends.

Listen to your heart, don't listen to your friends opinions.

Follow what you feel and be sure what you are doing...just so you won't get hurt.

and haha you probably "secretly love" the guy :]

    You love him, stay

Why would you let someone else decide what you should do.

    Its your life, remember that
