Banned from Playstation Network?
I found a ps3 on craigslist that I would like to purchase but it has been banned from playstation network. I am not too concerned about the online gaming but I would like to know if i can still get online with it and use the internet browser. Web browsing is high priority considering I will be trading my laptop for it.

Dont worry, the console is not banned from accessing the internet
Its the previous users PSN ID that has been banned
All you have to do is create a new online ID which is pretty simple
And no it does not affect the browser
Source(s): P.S. - Trading your laptop for the PS3 isnt really a good idea. even though the browser is great and everything its pretty hard to navigate and most flash items do not work on the browser - Anonymous1 decade ago
You can use the Internet Browser while being banned.
If a person mentions "banned" in the sale, then that usually means the console itself is banned from the PSN, so be aware that you will never, ever be able to access PSN services on this console (PSN Store, online gaming, PS Home). No, Sony will not un-ban the console for new owners.

You can still use the internet browser. And they can ban the console itself but its only banned from the online gaming and psn. I personally would just look for one that isn't banned because you might change your mind later on.

You don't need to sign in to your PSN account to access the Internet Browser, so even a banned 1 will give you access to the browser.... Besides, the account might be banned, so you can always create a new account...

If your account had been banned you would have received an email from PSN. Sounds like your "new" PS3's previous owner's behaviour was so bad they were MAC blocked. You'll have to sort this out with Sony support.

I'm pretty sure when they ban you from playstation networks its only that username on that console bro.
