we have ticks like crazy! please help!!!?
we live in an apartment complex, and every year the ticks outside are BAD! every day i have my dog and kids outside, i always end up pulling ticks off of them! i have to check my dog every time i take her outside to go potty, and i have to check my kids after going outside, even if it's just to get into the car! i have to check my kids and dog three or four times a day for ticks because every time we go outside, even to check the mail, we always end up finding a tick on our pants, on our socks, whatever....i just pulled a tick off of my daughter's head this morning that i had missed last night, and it was really stuck on her scalp! when i pulled it off, it drew blood! there are parents out here that won't even let thier kids play outside because of how bad the ticks are. there is a large field next to our apartment complet that is full of shrubs and tall grass. (pretty sure that's where they are coming from)....so my first question is, shouldnt the managers at my apartment complex have to do something about this? i mean, if i owned a home, and i had ticks really bad in my yard, i would have the yard treated....i have my dog on frontline, and a couple times a week i use carpet sprinkle and spray that is suppose to kill ticks and fleas. besides that, is there anything out there on the market that i can use to keep ticks off of me and my kids? mabye spray or lotion, shampoo, ANYTHING? if there is anything i can do about this, any answers or input would be GREATLY appreciated. thank you!

avon skin so soft does wonders to keep them off of you and your kids. dilute a little with water. It is not so much for you to buy a bag of flea and tick killer and throw out every now and then. If a group of you got together you could pay to get a more effective treatment done. I would just go to walmart and buy a bag of granular flea tick and other killer and throw it out over where you normally go from time to time. It would be well worth the few less ticks. For me to spend 8.00 about eveey 3 weeks to throw out killer for pest like this is well worth my pets and me not having so any of them. Get a few others to help and it is even less or just a much larger area.

The ticks are bad on the west coast also. In Oregon we are having a wet warm spring that is conducive to increased Tick populations. Add to that, this is the time of the year ticks hatch out and fly to new locations, then drop their wings, There are plenty around. They will even fly inside the house if you leave the screen doors open. On the farm, we use Sevin to control ticks, fleas and lice on the cats, dogs, poultry and live stock. Sevin powder kills insects only, it does not harm warm blooded mammals. I wouldn't recommend eating it or inhaling it though. Go to the garden store and purchase a large can of Sevin Powder for around $5. Powder up the cat and dog to prevent ticks and fleas. You will need to reapply every time they get wet because it washes off.

I just searched "eliminating ticks" into my google search bar and discovered this web site that just might help you out http://www.pestproducts.com/ticks2.htm I would call/email your apartment management and inform them of the problem and give them some solutions, that way it makes there job easier and shows that you really care about your living space.
Hope you get this taken care of.
