Why do you continue to do it?

Why do you continue to do it?

Sitting on a train with your feet up on the seat across. Someone wearing a uniform is heading down the carriage aisle, and so you quickly move your feet off the seat. When the person has passed you put your feet back on the seat. You have moved your feet in response to the authority and belie your understanding that it is wrong to put your feet up on the seat. Why do you continue to do it?

If you are thinking you like to do it, feel free to do it, or see it as nothing wrong, your reaction tells it is false thinking. If you think it is because of the authority, or a fear, you are kidding your self you are not responsible for your actions. The question is, why live a way of life where your actions are not what you think is right? You didn't think they were right and you corrected yourself. Why wait for an authority figure to do this? If you say you don't agree with this and you are free to do what you like, why did you react? It certainly isn't respect for authority to put your dirty shoes up on a seat where someone wants to sit. It certainly isn't a challenge to authority to take your dirty feet off the seats. There is no rebellious statement in the reaction at all. Think about it. You are living a life of reactionary false thinking. Why don't you think about your actions and live rightly, not having to react to authority, one way or another?

    Why be a hypocrite?

See how your paragraph can be condensed?

Because I don't want the grief of some jackass telling me what to do.

Easier to just move them till he leaves than to listen to his nonsensical chatter.

I get what your saying but I would move my feet to be polite, I mean how rude would it be if I was a jack-*** and just expected people to step over my feet.
