Can the cricketers having dual nationalities represent two countries?

We have seen several South Africa and Ireland born cricketers having dual nationalities playing for England. But are they eligible to represent their previous country again?

A player who is playing for Ireland could represent a test-playing team. But, a player who has played for a full member country cannot represent another test playing nation without wasting another 4 years. But under certain conditions can represent an associate or affiliate member temporarily. This is only for helping the development of cricket in the said nation. Like Rahul Dravid represented Scotland, and Steve Waugh represented Ireland.

If you can make out something out of this, here is a pdf file detailing out the eligibility criteria for players, (download location is ICC's official website)

Yes, it can be done and many have done it

    like

Kepler wessels who played for Aus and RSA

Dirk Nanes who plays for both Aus as well as Neth cricket team

Eoin Morgan who plays for ireland and england

but you can only play for one team in one tournament.

definitely.many player's have grown up and trained in other countries and then changed nationality to their native one.

You can only play for 1 team at a time.So nannes should be playing for holland, why waste his talent's in a lackluster team?

He can choose to play for holland even though he was born in australia, but obviously he won't considering holland's position in cricket.

Nannes played for Holland last year and now he is playing for Australia.

    So they can.

It can always be.....If u r legitimately proved or known, opportunity depends!!! Nannes, Morgan are quite some examples.....

  • Australian fast bowler Stuart Clark's mother is from Chennai.......

So by law, he is eligible to play for both India and Australia.....
