Here is a short passage, if you need a single verse, the last verse is a good one.
2 Corinthians 9:8-12
2Co 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
2Co 9:9 As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever."
2Co 9:10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.
2Co 9:11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
2Co 9:12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work". (2 Cor 9:7)
"This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people, but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God". (2 Cor 9:12)

I don't look at the servitude as if you are a low slave...more about becoming so intimate with Christ and so convicted and loved by him that you want to become more like him and draw closer to him. By studying his word and praying, you start to desire to serve him in good works, becoming a kinder person to others, helping others and appreciating his sacrifice. Worshiping and becoming enmeshed with him. I think most of the New Testament is a testament to what God has done and what Christ came to do.

Acts 17:24-27
"God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing HE GIVETH to all life, and breath, and ALL THINGS; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should SEEK THE LORD, if haply they might feel after him."

Rom. 12:1
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

God details quite clearly exactly what He wants from us in hos 6:6.
(paraphrasing) I don't want your burnt offerings. I don't want anything from you except your love.
in my opinion God would rather just have us love Him. if He wanted servants, He would create some robots. the only service that i see God needs from us is to help others see the truth about Him and for us to help others come to Him.
