A lot of those places are in the first, 5th and 6th districts and the best way to know this part of paris is to go walking. But in winter you will have to have warm clothes.

So if you are good walkers i sugest you to start by pantheon in 5th district. then walk to sorbonne university and jardin du luxembourg (where is senat : part of french congress).

then take boulevard saint michel and you will arrive to cluny museum where are the roman therms and the middel ages museum. this part of paris is where “quartier latin” starts. if you keep going by boulevard saint michel you will cross the seine river on saint michel bridge. you will now be on la cite island where paris started to be a town. within the palais de justice (justice ciourt) on the left is la sainte chapelle. on the other part of the island is notre dame cathedral.

then cross the seine river on arcole bridge and you will arrive to hotel de ville. after seeing this building come back to river and turn right on quai de gesvres. you keep going by the river and you will see on the other side of it (on the cité island) la conciergerie which have been a royal castle in the middle age and a jail on the revolution period and where marie antoinette and king louis xvi have been.

200 meters after you will arrive at the louvre. that’s a huge museum and it will take at least one day to see it and it is better to think of what you want to see in it before to go. shake there : http://www.louvre.fr/llv/commun/home.jsp?bmLocale=...

on the other side of the river is musée d’orsay. on the same side of the louvre is les tuileries garden where there was another royal castel before the revolution of 1871 (la commune). if you cross this garden you will arrive to place de la concorde. if you cross this place you will arrive to champs elysees avenue and at the end of this avenue is l’arc de triomphe.

Place des vosges is in the 4th district near la bastille place.

Opera garnier is in the 9th district not far from the louvre.

Pere lachaise cementery is in the 20th district.

Sacre coeur and montmartre are in the 18th district.

Eiffel tower is in the 15th district (that is close to arc de triomphe).

Versailles is another town outside of paris and you will have to go there by train.

    Have a nice trip
