When Conservatives say they're against bigger government, do they just mean the Federal government?

What if the State governments got bigger?

Would that be a good thing (an expansion of states' rights) or a bad thing (it's still...more government!) to conservatives?

Mostly they want the federal government to let go of their strangle hold on the states and govern the economy, infrastructure and the military, full stop. Stop governing ideology and creating departments, regulatory agencies and czars to control us. I'm sure there would be issues with too much state power, but the states would be free to deal with that on their own.

Actually most conservatives ARE for a smaller FED, and most authority given to the states. which means the fed gets smaller and the state's get bigger.

which is fine, because state govt's are easier for the people to control.

Do you think a Farmer in Montana has ANY influence in DC? No. He CAN have influence in Helena though.

It's pretty comical that Pubs "SAY" they so vehemently oppose "socialist" government entitlement programs,

YET are the first in line for their SOCIAL SECURITY, UNEMPLOYMENT, WELFARE and DISABILITY checks! :-) LOL

    Lying hypocrites!

PLEASE do all you can to keep such liars from weaseling their way back into power in the future!

They mean whichever part of government is not controlled by conservative wingnuts at any given time.

    They don't REALLY mean anything.

The Becker-heads thought it sounded good when Beck said it through his tears, and have never really thought it through.
