Mexicans go Home? Really?

If let's say you send all Mexicans across the border, who would pick your crops or make your beds or take care of the elderly. I am a latino and I believe in legal means to an end. I don't think that those who risk their lives to come here should do so illegally. There are better ways. As for the drug and weapons that cross, we are just as guilty as everyone else. Do you support illegals or do you support closed borders?

Update:

I want to thank you for all your answers. I picked this questioned because everyone who pays taxes has a say in this! Don't let your emotions cloud your judgement. Yes illegal is illegal. I too feel strongly about the human cost and would want a stronger enforcement of our laws. To those who choose to answer with a sharp tone, I am sorry my questioned bothered you. To those who answered open minded and stated their position without being hurtful, I say thank you.

I do not believe in sending all "Mexicans" away, I believe in deporting illegal aliens.

I believe in enhancing border security, stronger state alien laws, stronger enforcement of federal immigration laws.

I believe any citizen or legal resident of the US has the right to cross over to Mexico and Canada

as long as they follow Mexico and Canada's alien laws.

I believe any Mexican, Canadian or any other alien has the right to legally cross over to America.

I do not want "closed" borders, I want controlled borders. I want to keep out the illegals while allowing

    the legals access.

Pick crops and take care of the elderly?

It is a shame most Americans today don't appreciate their history and as a result are so complacent. When did America become a Super Power? During and after WW2. The American generation during that time were called the Great Generation. And that generation didn't have nothing! THEY picked their own crops, gardens and worked in the factories. THEY had nothing and made America great! They didn't relied on illegals and the ones remaining today are in disbelief over the fact that Americans are concerned about who is picking their vegetables. Such weakness. Such disgust.

Tell me how having close-to open borders like today are helping the economy?

Not to sound like a racist, but why is it that every Hispanic woman walking on the street has a stroller and more of her kids walking by her side? What sense does it make to have more and more kids if you're already poor? There's only one method I can think of and that's called taking over.

Seriously, some Hispanics I've known could give a s*** about their children. Their kids dropped out of high school while still living with their parents! What kind of parents do that, especially in this day and age? Not saying they're all like that, but it does kind a tell me that the reason they have more than 2 children is not to care for someone and raise them, but to overtake.

Oh yeah, regarding your ignorant "who would pick the crops" comment, who picked them before the Hispanics? The Chinese and white people. If there were no illegal immigrants, either legal immigrants would pick the crops or people of various races would, the same way it was before Hispanics took over most service jobs.

And by "took over service jobs" I'm implying that people of other races did their current work, but now will those jobs even hire white people or those of other races, at least in the western states?

Americans and legal immigrants would do those jobs.

If Mexicans were serious about stemming the number of weapons going from the U.S. to their country, then they would support a stronger border.

The fact is Mexicans would rather see their own people die so long as the illegal aliens keep sending them money.

Less than 2% of illegal immigrants pick crops.

Most illegals take jobs that USA citizens and permanent residents would do willingly if wages were not artificially suppressed by eager illegal immigrants.

The USA is already overpopulated. Adding a large mass of poorly educated immigrants unwilling/unable to assimilate has enormous economic and social costs. See the scholarly article below.

    Closed borders.

"As for the drug and weapons that cross, we are just as guilty as everyone else."

We are?! Calderon has changed his story going from 90 percent weapons smuggled into Mexico from the U.S. to 80 percent in his recent visit. While the real numbers of weapons is much lower than that and proving to come from other countries such as Middle east.

I make my own food, my own bed, mow my own lawn, plant my own crops, paint my own home, repairs on my own vehicle... Need I go on?

I would say illegals. It's not that I think it's right entering illegally, since they violate the U.S. laws, risk their lives and the lives of their babies/kids.I've seen many who have died in the desert due to dehydration, snake and venomous insect bites, rape, torture, accidents, illnesses,or police gun shots.Even the government agrees that there are way more illegals trying to enter, then the visas available.Illegals also have to meet many requirements to qualify, pay for all the consulate processes, and wait a very long time to get what they applied for.The problem is,that many don't have the time to wait. Many have chronic illnesses and don't have experienced doctors or money(to pay medical services) in their home countries.

We don't want to send them all home. Most of them are legal immigrants. It's just the drug cartels and the unskilled takers that we could do without. Stop being so defensive. Nobody's talking about YOU. People are pissed at the US and Mexican governments for allowing this disaster to happen. BOTH governments have failed their constituents. BOTH governments need to take responsibility. Illegal immigrant activists need to stop rubbing the "better life" argument in the faces of working and middle class Americans whose lives are literally falling apart because of the influx of illegal aliens. A working class American family shouldn't have to be made homeless in order to improve the quality of life for someone that decided to come to L.A. County illegally. And THAT is what's going on, especially in the construction business.

I do not support those that are not legal. The US doesn't prohibit immigration, but they should go through the proper channels. We should have border patrol. I imagination if the illegals were sent back to their country the crops would still get picked, beds would still be made and our elderly would be taken care of. That's lame to think any of these thing would not continue to take place.

take care of the elderly, just how does somebody who cannot speak English, who is not certified by any state to offer home health care to someone who speaks only English ? What you are saying is the vulnerable elderly people should have illegals who are criminals working for them ? As for the drug and weapons what if these end up at a confused, vulnerable, elderly persons house and the illegals steal all their personal information as well ? You have to pass a background check and have valid id to provide nursing services. As well as be certified by the state ..
