I dont think the haital hernia causes the dizziness but I do believe that when you are having an episode of acid reflux or bloating, it definitely does. I have had a hiatal hernia for years and used to get dizzy during these episodes. I always attributed it to the fact that due to the bloating feeling it would put pressure on my diaphragm and make it very uncomfortable and I would feel dizzy. This of course is just my findings and is no way medically proven. Hope this helps.

If your brain don't get sufficient oxygenated blood, you may feel dizziness, light headedness or fainting. Check your blood pressure for hypotension (<90/60 mmHg) , blood sugar for hypoglycemia (<70 mg/dL) and hemoglobin for anemia (Normal level of hemoglobin: Female: 12.1 to 15.1 gm/dL) Please also undergo exercise stress test or stress echocardiography in consultation with a cardiologist. Check your pulse rate before and after exercise. Hiatus hernia can cause shortness of breath and heart palpitations (due to irritation of vagus nerve). Here is a natural remedy to cure your acid reflux/gerd and hearth burn http://acidreflux.toptips.org/
Acid reflux disease, also known as gastro-esophageal reflux disease, or GERD, occurs due to the coexistence of two medical conditions. The first acid reflux disease contributing condition is a retrograde flow of stomach contents into the esophagus. However, the reflux itself does not necessarily lead to gastro-esophageal reflux disease symptoms or histologic changes, and can occur among healthy individuals as well. In this case, the process is referred to as "physiologic gastroesophageal reflux".
