Garry's Mod installation from Steam question.?
I am trying to download this game called Garry's Mod which I am sure many of you have heard of. Anyway, I'm tryin' to download GMod and I added it to my cart, put in the transaction information, but then it says "Your transaction failed because you are trying to buy a game that requires ownership of another game you do not currently own. Please correct the error and try again". However, I do own the game CounterStrike: Source and Half Life 2: Deathmatch as well as Day of Defeat: Source. I know those are games that go along with GMod, but I own them on CD. Do I have to purchase and download these games through Steam as well? I really do hope I do not. By the way, these games weren't installed at the moment.
Ok, CS:S is now installed and I registered it on my Steam account but it still isn't working.

You HAVE to have the games installed because garrys mod needs the source identification to have the SDK base to work. If the games are not installed then of course your Garrys Mod is not working because as it claims it is a MOD meaning it NEEDs the other source games.
