Video card driver question?
I'll spare you guys the details, but basically I'm having trouble installing a Sims game, and I get this message after going through some technical support links:
"Microsoft has not certified your video card driver for use with DirectX. if you have
difficulties please contact your video card manufacturuer and get an updated driver for it."
I already have DirectX 9.0, and the most updated video card driver (Intel driver for Dell laptops, 2007 version). What should I do? Should I install a different video card driver, like nVidia/ATI or something?
Thanks in advance=)

You should sell the laptop! You CANNOT put any other driver from another mfg and expect it to work! Your onboard laptop graphics PLAINLY doesnt have what the game needs. If you would have compared the software requirements with your PC hardware, you would have known this before you bought the software.

You install a driver for the card you have. Period. Find out what kind of video card you're using and get the latest driver for it.

No you cannot instal ATI or nVidia. You gotta update your intel driver by right clicking on your screen, going to properties, and display.

Installing a a driver for a different chipset won't work. Even if It did, it would probably just make things worse.
I think your graphics card just isn't good enough.

A video card driving force is this methodology that runs your video card. you should discover out what style of video card you have, and seek for the latest driving force on line. I recommend finding the type of the video card, and then traveling that employer's internet site.
