What's the best way to get pectorals WITHOUT the use of the gym OR weights?
Honestly, I just started push ups today. I'm doing 5 sets with 10 repetitions a day. Is that enough? I want to have results by mid summer. That possible with what I'm doing now? I'm 6 foot and weigh 200 pounds. I don't have a measurement of body fat, but it might be around 15-20%. I got lumbar surgery TWICE so I want to avoid using weights or gym. No income ever since surgery. Oh. Diet started today as well. If you're suggesting a routine that can get me results mid-summer, please don't make it too extreme. I haven't been able to do much since the first surgery which was in February of 2009. Lol. Thanks for the feedback.
So do more. Okay. Should I be doing this every OTHER day, or can I do this every day? Once again, I got lumbar (lower back) surgery TWICE. They worked on five of my discs. I don't want to work with weights so gym or weight is out of question.
Oh. And I'm not asking for bulging pectorals. Just so I can see a difference.

Just being real, you have no chance at building any type of pectoral mass doing 50 pushups a day...you will need to add in some benching at minimum,,plus dropping fat so you can see any definition you might have will help.

Pushups are the best thing besides weights. You need to do more like 5 sets of 30 reps or put a small amount of weight (sat 10 pounds) and do a few less reps. This should get you results.

Can you do pushups against the wall instead of on the floor?
You might want to take a look at these free daily workouts to see if you're able to do anything with them.

if you really want to get good results go to the gym, push-ups will build muscle but will not show big results so quick, if you can do push ups cant you atleast do chest excersices at the gym.
