Are people being too hard on Obama over the oil spill?

Since he staffed all government agencies with Harvard Lawyers, they might not know how to help the situation in the Gulf, but surely they will know who to sue.

Nope...if people are going to blame Bush for a hurricane and the ridiculous response by the local leaders and governor of LA who WERE IN CHARGE OF EVACUATING PEOPLE AND CALLING IN THE FEDS SEVERAL DAYS AFTER THE STORM HAPPENED...then you BET WE WILL BLAME OBAMA AND HIS ADMINISTRATION OF giving this oil rig a waiver for safety inspections and not doing anything for weeks while this thing gushed oil into the ocean. THIS IS FEDERAL JURISDICTION...the Hurricane emergency response was LOCAL JURISDICTION, but BUSH was blamed anyway...so if you are going to blame BUSH FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING...then have the moral honesty to call a spade a spade...OBAMA should have done more...it is FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THAT OVERSEAS THE OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING.

    "People" are not.

Hypocritical Reichtwingers are, but it's not like that's a surprise or anything. To even bring up President Obama's name in connection with the oil catastrophe is preposterous. Ludicrous, in fact.

Although we must give a portion of blame to the Bush Administration. Yes, I said it.

    Why must we?

Because someone in the Department of Interior must be held accountable for ALLOWING the drilling to occur in one of the most delicate ecosystems on the planet... with NO plan for what to do when the oil leaks into the ocean. How in the hell did that happen? Who fell asleep at the wheel?

And to try to draw some sort of comparison between this and Katrina is simply stupid.

Let's start off by stating the obvious: This irresponsible fiasco is completely, totally, wholly the responsibility of the oil company, BP. What has occurred off the shores of Louisiannia is nothing short of criminal negligence.

Yes, what would they have him do, don a diving suit and a big wrench? Your assertion about the Harvard lawyers is false, ludicrous, ignorant and partisan. What do you guys have against EDUCATED people in positions of power? The Democratic Party doesn't believe the heads of government should be hand puppets. I like Homer Simpson, but wouldn't want him running the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Obama did not cause the spill. His criticism of BP is what is drawing out his critics. Harvard lawyers aren't engineers, but I bet they are watering at the mouth over law suits they plan to file.

It's funny how people think Obama is in charge of everything and has complete power. And they seem to be ok with that misconception....

Too hard on him? Na, he knew he'd be blamed for everything under the sun. That comes with being president. I'd love for someone to tell me what he or anyone in washington can do about it. I can't come up with even one solution that could possibly come out of DC.

You are probably one of the hypocrites who has been crying for less government involvement and less taxes and now you want Big Daddy to come in and fix it all for nothing. Hypocrite.

This is uncharted territory. No one knows how to deal with this. I guess Obama is getting the thumbs down because Bush got thumbs down. Bush deserved it, Obama does not.

No harder than they were on Bush during Katrina when he had done everything the local dipsh!t officials had allowed him to do.

He's getting a bit of the Bush/Katrina treatment. I guess that's fair enough for the two parties but not for either president.
