I have to wonder as to why you allowed it to get to the size of a small apple? !
You should have taken her to the vet as soon as you noticed it. Please don;t say you hadn't seen it there..you and I both know that due to her tail being docked and holding the tail up when walking that it would have been clearly visible.
Boxers are known for getting cancer and you have been extremely irresponsible for not having this growth checked.
It could very well be cancerous, it could be a cyst, could be an infected anal gland or it could be anything under the sun.
Take her to a vet ASAP as many of these things can be easily treatable, unless of course you allowed it to go to far.

You should have any lump or bump that shows up on your dog checked out by a veterinarian. It could be a cyst or a fatty deposit, but in some cases it can be cancerous. I would worry too much, but you'd feel a good better piece of mind if you took him to the vet. Good Luck.

I don't want to get you worried, but I can't really say anything good about this. My beagle grew a lump about the size of an apple on his side (Near his private area but on the side of the stomach) back in about October. Eventually it got big enough that, naturally, he knew he wasn't supposed to be there and started licking it until it was bleeding. We took him to the vet in December and asked about surgery, they said they'd do it, but with his age (13) it was unlikely that he would wake up from the anesthesia. We had the surgery and he came out fine. Then in from April to May he grew another one, even bigger. Started licking it again. Eventually he licked it so bad that he ripped it open and ended up hitting an artery, we took him to the vet and they put a pressure wrap on it, and the next day we ended up having him put to sleep.
I'd like to say something good to you, however, I don't want to make it sound like everything is fine and end up having the dog suffer like mine did. I'm no vet but your dog's situation sounds very much like mine, where the dog acted perfectly normal and happy, and quickly grew a tumor. I'm gonna be honest, it's probably cancer. My best advice is to take her to the vet and ask them about options. My dog came out of surgery fine and lived for another five months. All I can say is if it's cancer it'll likely grow back, so don't be surprised, it's all about if you're willing to pay the money to keep the dog.
My best advice is DO NOT let the dog wait. I was stupid enough to make that mistake and watch my dog have a bloodbath all over the kitchen floor on my birthday. Take the dog to the vet, ask them about options, it's not right to let the dog wait and suffer.
One of the things the vet told us the day before we had him put down was that dogs natural instinct is to act normal even if there's a problem. Because, as naturally wild animals, if they show weakness they're vulnerable to attack. I thought my dog acted normal, but he obviously wasn't, and he had to suffer a whole night with a hole in his stomach while we could wait to have him put to sleep.
Not trying to upset you, but I also don't want your dog or you to suffer like my dog and I did. Obviously he was the one in pain but you don't even want to know how hard it is to watch. Take the dog to the vet and find out what options you have between surgery and such.

You should feel it, if its soft it could be some sort of skin infection but if it has been growing larger and feels solid it could be a growth or tumor. You should go to the vet to see if any treatment is needed, but you don't need to be too worried, hope everything goes ok...

It's probably a hemmorage. My boyfriend's dog just got one and she had to have surgery to have it removed. Its caused by them biting their butt because its itchy and then they sit down in dirt, etc. and it gets infected. It's really common, and nothing to worry about but you should probably have the vet check it out.

This could easily be a cancerous tumor. Your dog should have been taken to a vet as soon as you first noticed it!!

How soon..how about tomorrow?
She either has some sort of growth or inflamed/infected anal glands. Regardless, she needs to be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible.

is it on the back almost? near the tail? her gland might just be swollen, i'm not sure what it's called though. my dog had it last month, and it went down...
