Exactly why Gidley shouldn't be NSW fullback?

I think he and Bellamy are having sexual relations because he aint there on his skills and creativity!!!! He is utter rubbish and yet again it showed. Nothing in attack and hopeless in defense. Kimmorely had a blinder but the forwards were owned, only Leroyd-Larhs ran strong but the forwards were really missing. Time to get new selectors I think!!!!!

Jules - who said Haynes cant play wing? We are saying Gidley aint the best Fullback in NSW and thats simple. Lyons shouldn't be in number 6 either but this question wasnt asked about him!!! He should be in the centres with Tahu pushing to the wing and Idris starting. Their is nothing wrong with the players just that they are out of position. Gidley at best is a bench player. Cooper should be dropped and a number 6 brought in, now I wouldn't care if it was Soward, Campese, Barrett, Mullen who ever but it cant be Gidley because he is as creative as a brick wall!!!

I was in support of Gidley for origin 1 but the time has come to just admit Jarryd Hayne would do a better job at fullback, sure Gids is the captain but at the end of the day the game could have been different if Gidley could have just held onto that ball. He's a better suited utility and if the blues put him as fullback again well then they are just stupid.

Gidley is not bad off the bench as an impact player, sort of like the role Craig Wing played for NSW. Hayne should be at fullback in the NSW team and unfortunately it looks like the selectors will only do something about this now that NSW has effectively lost 5 series in a row.

Did you see what he did in Origin 1 this year? If you did, well, that explains why, but that doesnt mean he should be out of the team. I say, hayne fullback, lyon centre, gidley five eight.

Hayne is a useless FB - he cant defend so I guess if you are a bogan QLDER you would like that right?

Thurston and Inglis on Gidley was not legal but the refs were in full bias tonight.

Gids is fine at FB - better than Hayne and doesnt make MASSIVE mistakes like Hayne does. He would be fine off the bench - Im thinking Watmough to step up as Captain he is a good leader and gets us fired up.

PS if Hayne is such a great player - the best in the world according to some - why cant he play winger???? Is it that hard?? Darius did it right???

Hayne definitely needs to be at fullback. The defence down his wing was weak all night. The problem is NSW don't want to let go of Gidley because he's captain and 'leader' or whatever. I say shove him on the interchange and use him for an injection of energy later on in the match. Give him captaincy if you wish, although I personally think Hindmarsh deserves to be there... Not that it makes much difference; coming up against a QLD side like we have now, it's always going to be difficult. I just find it pretty obvious that NSW are making it harder for themselves by playing guys out of their regular positions.

I have never been a fan of Gidley in big time rep footy. A great club player but he lacks that extra oomph for rep footy. That should be Gidley's last game for the Blues. It should also be Lyon's last game as well. Apart from kicking four goals he didn't do too much.

you have the games two best fullbacks in the game & one is on the wing,how degrading is that to hayne & how embarrasing is that to gidley. kurt isnt in the same class as slater & hayne,i think its appalling the dally m winner cant play in his award winning position. kurt dsnt have the same spark & creating something out of nothing like jarryd has. hayne fullback game 2
