what kind of bug is this?

Well I am always at my sons baseball games. And there are these teeny tiny lil red bugs that surrounds me and start biting me. I can see them on me but they are really really little! What kind of bugs are they??

Also, my mom never gets bitten by them! It seems as if I am the only one out there who is getting attacked!! What are they and why do they bite me???
