Why don't tennis players wear sunglasses?

You see those in the audience wearing sunglasses, but never tennis players...

well the first thing because they are uncomfortable...and they could fall off..

the second thing they could affect the way u see the ball and top players cannot afford to have too many misjudgements on what they are seeing..

so it would not be right,,, most of them are happy wearing hats...

Yeah, Oakleys appear is the best choice. Arnaud Clement, renowned for his shades on court, wears prescription ones but Mike Stosur has become a representative for the organization. But to another a part of your question, based on how you feel "absurdly costly," Oakleys aren't exactly cheap. Don't believe you can aquire a pair for less than $100 dollars unless of course there is a special purchase. Ain't never compensated greater than $30 dollars for shades myself simply because they always either go missing, damaged or scratched very quickly whatsoever!

Most tennis players don't wear sunglasses because they can sometimes make you loose your concentration. With all the sweat wiping and taking on and off can be a hassle for some. However some do wear glasses. I've played against some people who love wearing sunglasses, but they're not your typical sunglasses. Take a look at these:

I could never play with sunglasses just because they bothered me. I couldn't stand the way it affected my vision....Plus, the rims kind of blocked my vision when I hit the ball. That's no good either. There is one guy with a pony tail that wears glasses all the time when he playes (pro) I can't remember his name though, darn't. Some of my friends wear glasses 'cause they have to, and they don't ever fall off. But yeah... That's all I can say about that. : )

With all the jumping and sweating it probably gets VERY uncomfortable...not too many years ago there was a guy who used to play every single game wearing sunglasses though, even indoors. I think it was Baghdatis, but now I'm not sure...in any case, he's relatively well-know.

i know quite a few people that do. i cannot play during the day w/o mine. i have a pair of Costa Del Mars and their called "corbinas" i believe and they have a rubber like substance on the inside of them which allows them to actually stick more when i sweat believe it or not. they are not a bother at all. i have very sensitive light blue eyes. so the sun bothers them more then anything. just after a game/set ill wipe the arms/nose piece off and my face and im good 2 go. i would recommend them to anyone. especially due to Costa glasses have the best clarity out there and the contrast they provide (depending on which color lens) is awesome on the court for seeing the ball. kinda like those nike contacts that they used to have. they worked for football soccer tennis...ect.

Sunglasses would fall off and would basically be annoying

Ju, i think you mean Janko Tipsarevic. He wears (or at least used to wear) prescription glasses with photo gray lenses (the ones that darken automatically upon exposure to sunlight or even bright indoor light).

DUH!! with all the movement and jumping up and down that a tennis player does, just how on earth do you think that a sunglass will stick on their faces !
