After so many years are you supposed to have tour breast implants replaced?

I heard your supposed to have your breast implants replaced every 10 years, is that true? Do ou ever really have to have them replaced or just if they leak or break?

I asked my plastic surgeon this same question when I went in for my first consultation. His answer was, if it isn't broken why fix it. It is said that after 10 years, the chances that an implant could rupture go up. And you most definitely without a doubt have to have them replaced with they leak/break. If you don't....you can have a deflated breast with saline, and possible infection with silicone.

I do not plan to have my implants replaced unless they rupture, or I become unhappy with the size/shape (they will eventually start to sag due to the forces of gravity, pregnancy, etc).
