What is the problem with Casey Stoner?
Not long ago he was virtually unbeatable and his battles with Rossi were legendary.
Then he had the mystery virus but has come back looking fast - sometimes very fast.
Then he simply loses the bike. Looking at the last couple of incidents it looks very strange because the bike simply does strange things. But it's only his bike that seems to be doing it.
So in your opinion is it to do with the bike (maybe the traction control system) or is it Stoner himself?
I really miss the battles. Without Stoner mixing it, MotoGP is getting boring.

Casey's biggest problem is Casey.
He is not happy the fact the Ducati have made the 2010 MotoGP bike a better bike for other riders rather then just him. With new riders in the paddock riding the GP10, they had to adapt. Ducati is looking to the future with young riders like Alex, Mika & the new Aspar Team setup.
The fact that Nicky is riding so good again means the bike is fine. Ducati have added a 3rd footrest on the left side near the gear change rearset. You can see details on motomatters.com.
This and the new seat, means Nicky can ride it like he did the HRC in 06.
The truth is Casey is not intrested in riding for Ducati now Livvio Suppo has moved to HRC.
The rumours are that Casey has already signed for HRC for 2011 to re-unite him with Livvio. I dont why HRC would want Casey to be honest, he is the most anti - PR person in the paddock. Ducati / Phillip Morris have on many times had to Photoshop Casey's face on to another blokes body in photoshoots as Casey could not be bothered. He hates doing PR work ...... Unlike Jorge Lorenzo.
If VR46 wins the title again & Casey goes to HRC, then Phillip Morris will snap Jorge up in a flash. Last year, there was wispers of €22 million for a 3 year deal. A lot more then Casey is on and even more then he was in 07.
Time will tell.

Ok it would be to easy to slag Casey off, that said I think HE is the problem and is trying to hard, but then he always has, he always rides as if every lap is his last, look how often he fell from the LCR Honda. I think his current problems are problems of his own making, he is a fantastically talented rider and quite possibly the fastest out there most days but I question his development skills, I think Ducati have missed Capirossi in this respect, his performance on the 800 was far better than any of his successors. Casey's talent has allowed him to ride round inherrent problems with the bike and that has been highlighted by the fact no-one else could ride it, until Hayden dogedly stuck to the task in hand. I think the best thing for Ducati is to lose him to Honda next year, it will be Honda's loss. The only thing that will even the playing field is when VR & JB quit.

I agree with the others - He is trying too hard.
to be quick you need to be smooth, as pointed out by Auburn, some things in the sports are the same.
Caseys main trick is to be quick straight out of the blocks. from FP1 to the race.
he worries the opposition by setting quick times.
He knows he is quick, he knows the bike is quick. he needs to get away from the Yamah's early because as we have een from Lorenzo the yamaha comes better as the race goes on. and looking at Nicky the Duc may wear tyres a bit more.
But to be fair to Casey he was too quick at Qatar. He says he has no idea why he lost "The front" (I say front because after watching it again and listening to casey tell the tale) then the rear last time out. he was on it again.
I would not write Casey off just yet. He does not like Jerez or Le Mans. He made a mistake at Qatar. (a race he would have won by a mile) I think he has got the machine under him to still worry the Fiat team. its only been 3 races.
As for MotoGP getting Boring. what are you on ?
The Battle between Rossi and Lorenzo is just getting started. Dovi is getting to grips with the Honda and up with Pedrosa. Ben will get it together the Satalite fighting is as unpredictable as the winner.
if its so boring and predictable, you should be making a fortune at the bookies
Edit.... Forgot to add, Casey's "mysterious illness" was diagnosed as Lactose intolerance, his diet has been changed to combat it.

Casey Stoner was ill last year maybe it's effected him more than we know ~ But how on earth can you say MotoGP is getting boring ~ with Lornezo giving Rossi a run for his money and Pedrosa great as ever and many other great riders in the mix ~

Hi
I never profess to know really anything much about Gp and am a mx and sx kind of person but I reckon the first answerer is right in that he is trying too hard. See that all the time in mx and sx when you know you can do it and want it so bad that it just is going to fall apart as you try too hard. Maybe its an Aussie thing.
I am sure some of the die hard gp guys will have a different take on reasons with his riding or his bike as to why he isn't doing well so wait for the experts to come on later

I think its Stoner because he has always been a rough rider. He tends to come into corners bouncing and sliding all over the place before the lean. Never the less, his wild techniques to push the hardest have earn him his achievement. my 2cent. haha.

He is trying to hard..Before the tyres have a chance to warm up properly he falls off.
